![]() Now that it's here, the roguelike genre has a bright and shining example of how a title can bring a unique concept and a breath of fresh air to an oft-repetitive game type, and it's evident one of the sleeper hits of the year didn't waste much time in arriving this 2016. The game had to go through its own series of hurdles before it could even present its challenges to players: Darkest Dungeon went through a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, and had almost two years of development time before finally going gold this week after plenty of fan feedback and a a foreboding trailer. Gamers who enjoy the challenge of a good roguelike or a great turn-based roleplaying game should look no further: Darkest Dungeon has finally arrived. I finally rate DD2 as 6/10 (above average game) just because i am optimistic that Red Hook will learn from their mistakes and give us the masterpiece game we want.A Kickstarter campaign from two years ago has led to the long-awaited release of Darkest Dungeon, one of the best roguelike RPG titles we've ever played. After all, not all players are 10 year olds with infinite free time. I recommend downloading mods from Nexus such as All Skills mods, always a mastery point in combat, and obviously cheat engine to make the game run faster to not waste your fucking time. I've played dozens of strategical turn based games and on DD2 i have failed the second damn chapter over 7 times due to aforementioned reasons. Ultimately the game is not worth playing without mods. ![]() The characters are all fucking idiots who have nothing better to do than to hate each other and to get meltdown status ever single time like modern era snowflakes. ![]() The stagecoach is too fucking slow, "a design made for little boys to play the game while looking at their favorite egirl's twitch streams". 30h Progress30 hours in and this game is an utter dissapointment to the Darkest Dungeon legacy. ![]()
